They benefit from two speeds and two extraction rates, 53 or 74 cubic metres/hr which produce noise levels of 22 and 34 decibels respectively. To put that into perspective 22 decibels is slightly louder than rustling leaves. These really are one of the quietest operating fans on the market today. This model has a modern square design and can be discreetly fitted into a wall, window or the ceiling depending on which is most convenient. The ease and flexibility of installation isn’t this fans only trick, it’s supplied complete with an wall kit comprising a 300mm telescopic wall tube and external grille. As a bathroom can have high levels of moisture any electrical appliances need to have the correct protection against it. This is called the IP rating or Ingress Protection rating. The Simply Silent range is classified as IPX4 or IP44 which means they have protection from water sprayed from any direction. Axial fans are designed to create a pressure difference and force which produces a flow through the fan. Humidistat & timer operated These extractor fans are certainly the cleverest with the ability to operate using a timer or based on the humidity levels in the room. It is operated when humidity levels within the room get too high or when the light switch is used, with a timer continuing to run the extractor fan for a predetermined amount of time. Recessed Design Recessed fans can be installed through a wall, window or alternatively the ceiling giving you that extra bit of flexibility. IPX4 Rating This product has a rating of IPX4 which means it is protected from water splashes from any angle. Zone 1 Rated IP rating stands for ‘Ingress Protection rating’ and this helps us determine what bathroom electricals can go in particular bathroom zones. An IP (Ingress Protection) number or code is used here in the UK to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests.
