Extractor fans are designed to remove unwanted odours and excess moisture. This in turn reduces mould growth and keeps your bathroom fresh. The Simply Silent range of bathroom accessories from Xpelair are exactly that, silent. They benefit from two speeds and two extraction rates, 53 or 74 cubic metres/hr which produce noise levels of 22 and 34 decibels respectively. To put that into perspective 22 decibels is slightly louder than rustling leaves. These really are one of the quietest operating fans on the market today. The ease and flexibility of installation isn’t this fans only trick, it’s supplied complete with an wall kit comprising a 300mm telescopic wall tube and external grille. A simple flick of the switch and excess humidity from a shower or long bath can be extracted until you turn the light back off. For extended extractor you may want to consider one with a timer or humidistat. Recessed Design Recessed fans can be installed through a wall, window or alternatively the ceiling giving you that extra bit of flexibility. Axial Axial type fans cause gas to flow through in an axial direction which is parallel to the shaft where the blades rotate, making the flow axial at exit and entry. Axial fans are designed to create a pressure difference and force which produces a flow through the fan. IPX4 Rating This product has a rating of IPX4 which means it is protected from water splashes from any angle. Zone 1 Rated IP rating stands for ‘Ingress Protection rating’ and this helps us determine what bathroom electricals can go in particular bathroom zones. An IP (Ingress Protection) number or code is used here in the UK to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests. These extractor fans can be fitted within Zone 1 as shown below. Use in a Cloakroom or Bathroom This type of fan is suitable for use in a cloakroom and a bathroom to give you an excellent flow rate.
